Sometimes, paths cross in the most meaningful ways. Rana traveled from Jordan to Saskatoon for a medical mission, helping welcome a new Syrian family to Canada. Mahmoud, who regularly volunteers with Syrian refugees, was there to welcome them too. What started as a shared passion for helping others quickly turned into a profound personal connection.After a brief but unforgettable conversation, Mahmoud asked Rana out the very next day to show her around the city before her flight home. In just a few short hours together, the distance between them vanished. They discovered an effortless alignment on everything that truly mattered—their faith, life philosophies, family values, and outlook on the world.Standing at the airport just before Rana boarded her flight, Mahmoud knew this wasn’t the end. He looked at her and said he wanted to truly get to know her—even if it meant traveling across the world to Jordan to meet her family.A month of late-night, cross-continental phone calls only deepened their bond. When Mahmoud finally landed in Jordan, seeing Rana in her element and meeting her wonderful family solidified everything. Over the next several months, despite the thousands of miles between Saskatoon and Amman, Mahmoud traveled every four to eight weeks just to see her. Distance was no match for a love that felt this right.It didn’t take long for them—and their families—to fall completely in love. Their relationship grew with a beautiful, natural smoothness. Today, they know they have found the ultimate partnership: a safe space to grow, evolve, and entirely be themselves, side by side.To be continued...
